Gotta have BlogCatalog!

Lots of excitement…

So, I have been extremely, extremely busy as of late. I have already received a promotion at my new job and am in transition for an even larger move. Additionally, I have kept my Wed. night shift at the halfway house.

The farmers market has been good- its so nice to meet and talk with my customers in person! The new items I have are flying off the table– I haven’t even been able to list lotion, facial cream, serum, or new soaps because I am selling so much at the market!

I know we haven’t quite gotten dharaholistics.com in order– my good friend and programmer has taken a second job, as well. Soon… Soon… It will be worth the wait!

To see what’s going on–  come out to the Summit Farmer’s Market on Sundays, 8 am to 1 pm–

Shop & Park Lot #2 – corner of Maple Street and DeForest Avenue

Farmer’s Market – Summit NJ

So I’ve been QUITE busy!

Here’s one little image from today’s farmer’s market in Summit, NJ.  More to come…

News Update

Well, hello loyal readers–

I may be slightly slow for a while until I get used to managing my time with the new job I took–  Being that I graduated, I’ve got to start paying back those loans!

I do have some very exciting things going on though…  this weekend, at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn, I will be releasing two brand new items that you will surely fall in love with.

First, the most decadent and gentle facial cream I’ve ever, ever used.  A great customer of mine asked me to help her by creating a cream that would be moisturizing, soothing, and gentle without being greasy– and ideally, helping with her acne, too.  I, too, have classic combo skin–  oily t-zone, dryish cheeks, a little acne, and a touch of sensitivity.  Well, if I do say so myself, I really hit the nail on the head with this one.  My skin cleared up super quickly (it had been breaking out a little as I was finishing school), I have no dry patches, no oilyness, and I swear its smoother and softer.

The second product I’ll be releasing is a body lotion that is both moisturizing and light–  additionally, it has a wonderful cooling effect–  thanks to the spectacular blend I created, including peppermint essential oil.

To check out these awesome goods–  you’ve got to come to Renegade this weekend, or hope I don’t sell out and wait until late next week, most likely, for me to get them listed on the website. (<— I’m also hoping this link, by then, will go directly to my site in progress!)

Have a great rest of the week, everybody…  I hope to see you soon!

Verisimilitude

So, as promised–  (a little late, I know)…

Some images from my thesis show, Verisimilitude–

I’m catching up on a little reading…

Robert Redford at Sundance

Reading April’s issue of Inc. magazine (I know, I know–  give me a break :)   I’ve been just a little busy!) and on page 92 I read this quote:

“Do you think the earth was created by an accountant? No! The earth was created by the combustion of a creative explosion.  Fire and chaos are what started everything.  Then order can on top of that.” – Robert Redford, Sundance Institute (2003)

My Charcoal Seas on http://HandmadeSoapReviews.com

I just got an awesome convo over through my Etsy store!  My Charcoal Seas soap was featured on the very awesome Handmade Soap Reviews website!

“Although I unfortunately have bad enough adult acne that I needed to resort to a prescription topical cream, I do still use facial soaps to keep my skin feeling fresh and tight, as opposed to dry and flaky that the cream leaves me. Luscious Naturals Charcoal Sea facial soap is the one I’m currently using, and I absolutely love it. … The bars also last forever – I ordered this back in December, and it’s still going strong! ” – Selenia

new site(s)

So, in addition to working on the online store for Dhara Holistics, I also purchased a domain and put a landing page up for another new site…

Article on “Homebase IV” via New York Times…

At a clinic, Artists Reflecting on Home

By MELENA RYZIK

Published: May 10, 2009
There is little that is cozy about “HomeBase IV,” a site-specific installation built around a dozen artists’ notions of home. It is installed in a vacant medical clinic on the Lower East Side, unused for three years but still carrying the unmistakable whiff of an institution you don’t want to be in.

“When we arrived, it had nothing in it,” said Leor Grady, the curatorial and programming director of the project. “It smelled like a combination of mildew, chemicals, medical waste and sheet rock.” Even after a cleaning, the worn peachy-beige walls, industrial carpeting and fluorescent lighting retain a sterility that serves as a palette for the sometimes unsettling works …

A little sneak peek…

So I have been totally, completely, utterly consumed by my photographs…  taking them, adjusting them, printing them, and preparing for exhibition– not to mention all of the other things that come with the end of the semester, and the end of undergrad!

I wanted to stop by and share a couple images with you though, since I have been so quiet lately…

Enjoy…
